Nice pixelling

The gfx for this game are very good, love the style. I seemed to be losing health for no reason though, so couldn't get very far in the game, and pickups didn't help with this. Is that a bug, or something I missed? Would love to play the game through, when I know what the health issue is about.

Montycarlo responds:

Thanks for your review,

You didnt loose health for no reason, you must have hit some of the zombies on the higher platforms, and since they have an almost unlimited attack range, your an easy target.

Needs perspective

It's impossible to judge distance when the ball casts no shadow or anything. Fix that, and it may work.

AceDecade responds:

That's true, I was gonna include it, but it was more work and I didn't think it was that necessary.

Work with the concept

Very cool visually and I also like the interaction, but I think the concept needs some thought, because there's nothing i can really become 'better' at when playing, nothing to learn - because who can predict these chain reactions, it's all very random. Add some skill play and it'll be good though.

Too hard

It's an ok game - I like the graphics and atmosphere, but those choppers are just a little bit too hard to kill, also because they always hit the tank with at least some of their shots before they're killed. Perhaps make them easier to kill at first, to give the player a bit more of an experience before he dies from unavoidable chopper-missiles.

pretty good ideas

Gameplay and level design is rock solid though, so if you can get better graphics you will have a killer casual game.

Needs longer tutorial/instructions

I was kinda enjoying this, although the music is lame, but then I got to the level where I had to use keys or something - it wasn't explained anywhere and I failed the level because the key thing didn't make sense.

I'd suggest a quick help screen explaining new features before each level, or maybe just a more extensive instructions screen at first.

graphics are ok, but game needs work

i didn't play for long, but it seemed to keep repeatng the content that was there from the start. make powerups, special features, timers, goals etc to make it more interesting.

Also, the game over text seemed to be in spanish or something, although I chose the english language version of the game.

keep it up though :)

Goo job! And a few ideas for improvement...

Nice game, here are just a few tips for improvement:
* As a player, I didn't notice any difference between the four weapons I was offered. The difference, if there is any, should be clearer.
* There seems to be some bug on the last level - I wasn't allowed to change weapons or reload, in fact the game crashed after frantic key-pressing.
* Different opponents could require different weapons to beat - there are tanks and jeeps, but i just have to shoot the guy on top of them to pacify them - I want a bazooka to deal with them instead >:)

That said, it's certainly an above average game, and I can see a lot of work went into making it (the 3d stuff). So i'm curious what will be next ;) Good job!

Cool!

Very cool game! Must have taken a long time to make. Very smooth handling and great customization features. Reminiscent of the old Amiga game 'Nitro', which you could check out for more ideas if you don't know it already.

Some suggestions that would make the game better imo:
* bigger screen size (would allow more accelleration)
* perhaps a mini-map feature in one corner
* more powerups on the track, for instance money that could be used at end of level to upgrade the car (tyres, engines, bumpers, etc.)
* Oil pools on the track that makes the car spin uncontrollably for a few seconds.
* AI opponent cars to race against, or multiplayer competitive race mode (ambitious)

Great job, overall. I'm adding this to favorites.

EyeFusion responds:

Thank you for the suggestions and the favorite :D
I thought bigger camera would certainly lag the game, and it would take me forever to figure out how to make the upgrading system, mini-map and AIs. But when I gain enough AS experience in the future, I'll make a more interactive sequel with the feedbacks people gave me, and hopefully a multi-player version like you said.

No interaction

This is a tutorial, not a game, so it shouldn't be posted as a game. Also, in a tutorial, it should be possible to step back and forth between each bit of information - here there's a mixture of auto-forwarding and 'click to continue', with no step back buttons. So it's highly unlikely that anybody will actually understand it and be able to make a game from it. Could be good, though, if pacing was up to the viewer.
